I) WHAT’S NEW IN OUR REGION ( YOUTH NEWS )

*In her report filed from Burundi, Gentille Ntibagirigwa talked about courses children take after school. Some people say these courses are useful and others say it is a waist of time. *Olivier Isata sent a report on soccer competition organized in Nyamirambo district Kigali to try to keep children out of trouble while they are out of school.

II) YOUTH TOPIC

*Jean-Baptiste Nimubona sent a report on how youn girls who quit school because of the war are trying now to learn certain skills in order to take care of themselves. Jean-Baptiste visited JRS an organization that takes care refugees in Buterere district Bujumbura Burundi. *From Rwanda, Yvette Umugwaneza sent a report about children who live in the Kigeme refugee camps. She said these children who were separated from their families are doing well in the camps.

Ex-refugee children, now back in their country Rwanda remember how their lives were miserable in the refugee camps. They say how happy they are to be back in school and vow to study hard and become important and useful. But some these ex-refugee children who are living with HIV/AIDS complain about being discriminated against.
